About SAM

I am a registered Personal Trainer and qualified Health Care Professional and am dedicated to being active, healthy and feeling energised. I am also passionate about helping my female clients pursue a healthy lifestyle through exercise, education and a balanced diet.

In addition, I am a mother of two adult sons who share my passion. We have a family culture where health and exercise are valued highly. We gain inspiration from each other’s endeavours to maintain high levels of fitness and wellness. Importantly, I believe that BALANCE is the key. Being fit and healthy doesn’t mean foregoing life’s little treats!

Why Fit4Women?

Fit4women is so much more than just exercise. It’s about educating and empowering women to look after their long term health in all areas – body, mental wellbeing, good nutrition and fitness. It’s about Wellness not just weight loss because once you start to move your body, hopefully you will be inspired to do a little more as you will feel so much better!

My first insight into the importance of maintaining good health and fitness came as a nurse working in the Cardio-Thoracic area. I was caring for an increasing number of patients undergoing open heart surgery as a result of blocked coronary arteries. The common theme amongst these patients aside from other contributing risk factors was physical inactivity.

From there I worked as a Community Health Nurse involved in Health Promotion activities and prevention of illness and disease. It was through these experiences that I came to understand the importance of regular physical activity as beneficial to a healthy lifestyle.

Why Engage Me

I have worked in the Health and Fitness industry for a decade now training women of all ages and levels of fitness on a one on one basis and taking small groups outdoors or in their home. I develop training programs for my clients to help them achieve their personal health and fitness goals and hopefully inspire change.

Not all women wish to engage the services of a Personal trainer, attend group classes or a gym for a variety of reasons and this seems to be more common in those over 40. Many would prefer to exercise in private. Others want to exercise but are just unsure what they should be doing or where to begin. I have realised there is a gap in the market for women over 40 who know they should be doing Strength based exercises but don't know where to start. This is where I can help.

I am now offering Online Customised monthly programs for those women over 40 who want to exercise without supervision and want guidance and variety in their exercise.  By engaging my services, you will receive high quality realistic Strength based exercise programs, support and education in exercise technique, as well as general nutrition and healthful advice.

I believe that exercise in any form is the key to a happier, healthier life. My aim and mission is to inspire and empower women through my expertise , experience and knowledge of the female body, to take charge of their bodies and MOVE, making regular exercise an essential part of your life right into old age.
